Debunking the Diaphragm
A "coffee-break" guide to the diaphragm, for singers & singing teachers. (This means, each lesson can be studied in a coffee break)!
This short course covers the basics of what the diaphragm is - its functions, how it works in relation to the body around it, and the part the diaphragm has to play (or doesn’t!) in various aspects of singing, such as breathing and breath support.
As a singer or singing teacher it is important to understand the part that the diaphragm has to play, and not to be led astray by some of the myths that surround this vital piece of your anatomy. In turn, this course will enable you to understand the breathing and support mechanisms more fully, and ensure that you are appropriately informed on all things diaphragmatic!
The course comprises 6 lessons, followed by a revision lesson / summary and some useful links for your further study.
